Photo Shoot Rio Grande River in South Fork, CO

Join anglers Lee and Michaela Molvie, and photographer Ryan Lee, in one of the most picturesque float fishing opportunities that the state of Colorado has to offer.

As the winter snows melts and fills our drainages with life-giving water, the weather and fishing will heat up along the storied Rio Grande river from Creede through South Fork. Prolific bug hatches and hungry trout make this stretch of water the longest designated Gold Medal Water in the state…and for good reason. Salmonflies, green drakes, caddis, PMDs, and terrestrials are all on the menu and the fish are eager to crush a well presented dry fly. The river winds its way through a diverse landscape of cliff walls, meadows, and historic ranch property offering a backdrop worthy of any magazine cover.

We will be exploring these waters on foot and by raft. Good times will be had and memories will surely be made, while the camera works in natural harmony with the adventure.

PLANNED.

We’ve handled the logistics of the trip. From the crew, travel, food—you name it. Only thing we can’t arrange is perfect weather, but we’ve adventured in the worst of it and we’ll capture the experience nevertheless.

EXECUTED.

You’ll send a shotlist and the gear you want us to add to the shoot and we’ll put it in the field where it’s meant to be tested. We trust in your brand and trust it makes the outing great—otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this.

DELIVERED.

Once we're back in the studio we start on post-production and editing. We’ll make selects, correct color and nit-pick over general vibe and story telling. You receive a download link and can start sharing with the world.

Michaela Molvie // ANGLER

Michaela Molvie started fly-fishing over nine years ago when she made the big move from her native Colorado cow-town to the mountain community of Winter Park. Diving into the outdoor culture, she threw herself into all of the sports the area had to offer. Fly-fishing quickly became her lifestyle and the center of her universe. Early mornings before work, evenings and weekends were filled with a rod in hand and, if lucky, fish in the net. Michaela is a passionate angler and fishes extensively across the Rocky Mountains, always planning her next adventure in salt or freshwater destinations. When she isn’t wade fishing her home waters, or putting her boat on the water and rowing to the next good looking run, she can be found at her home in Pine, CO with her chocolate lab Bowie and husband Lee.

Lee Molvie // ANGLER

Lee Molvie began chasing fish with a fly rod at a young age, and grew that passion into a profession and lifestyle while living and guiding along the front range of Colorado. Outside of his home state, he finds plenty of time to explore and fish the neighboring waters of Wyoming and Montana and an array of global saltwater destinations. His background includes fly shop retail, professional guiding, and years working in the creative/digital marketing industry. Lee is also co-founder of Istoerics Apparel - a mission based clothing company that is raising awareness around the environmental impact of beetlekill in the Rocky Mountain West. Lee, and his wife, Michaela, live in the small town of Pine, CO where they feel lucky to call the waters of the South Platte drainage their home.

Ryan Lee // Photographer

Based in Colorado, Ryan spends much of his time outdoors in the Rocky Mountains on rivers and high alpine lakes tricking trout, hiking and camping with his wife and two daughters. He graduated from Metropolitan State University with a BFA and has since honed his skills in design and photography while working both in advertising agencies and independently for 16 years. Combining his background in advertising and love of adventure, Ryan has an eye to tell a candid story and promote brands and their products without fluff. From summits to rainforests, capturing the excitement of the unknown in real time as the experience unfolds is the challenge that Ryan thrives on.
